Founder of Jordan Grand Prix
Before his success as a team owner, Jordan was a racer, entered the Irish Kart Championship in 1971 and won. Then Formula Ford, moved on to win the Irish Formula Atlantic Championship in 1978. In 1979 drove in Formula 3, and in the same year, 1 race in Formula 2 and testing for McLaren. In 1981 he raced in 24 Hours of Le Mans. In 1979 he Founded Eddie Jordan Racing with events around Great Britain and stretching to Europe in F3. He hired drivers like Johnny Herbert and Martin Brundle who came in second to Ayrton Senna in British F3.
In 1991. He launched Jordan Grand Prix, which quickly gained a reputation for its bold racing style and eye-catching designs. Jordan Grand Prix provided Michael Schumacher with his Formula 1 debut during the team’s inaugural season. However, after just one race, Schumacher was quickly signed by rival team Benetton. The team’s first F1 win came in 1998 with Damon Hill at the Belgian Grand Prix. He was paired with Ralf Schumacher at that time. Jordan Grand Prix continued to make headlines until it was sold in 2005.
His team was sold on and as of 2021 has now become the Aston Martin F1 team. It continues to run from Jordan's former headquarters at Silverstone.
